Dave Watson: Dave has been a NOLS instructor since 1999. He has over 400 weeks in the field, most of which have been at Patagonia. He focuses on getting his students to “camp in style" so that they can embrace the other challenges of a NOLS course: staying warm, dry, and well fed. When not working for NOLS, Dave is home in Nova Scotia, Canada, canoeing with his wife. Steve Robitshek: Steve has been working for NOLS since 2006. As a “professional sitter,” most of his 250+ weeks have been spent sea kayaking. Educated to be an architect, he takes pride in his tent set-up and tarp architecture. As he ages and grows, Steve spends more time in Wisconsin canoeing whitewater, helping to care for his parents, instructing for NOLS Wilderness Medicine, and considering where to have his home base. Nacho Aguilera: Nacho has been a NOLS Instructor since 2023 after doing his IIT Program at NOLS Patagonia in 2022. Currently, he works on sea kayaking, hiking, and mountaineering courses. He also works at his home in Pucon, Chile, as a mountain guide, whitewater kayaking and ski instructor. Nacho leads by example and holds his students accountable for living in a style with high standards.
