Looking for a complement to long days on the water? Yoga is a great opportunity to relax, stretch out tight muscles, and center yourself. In this step-by-step video, NOLS instructor Teresa Miller shares a yoga routine tailored to paddlers’ needs.

She explains that, “Yoga adds to our experience as paddlers by bringing us into the present moment, connecting our movement with our breath, and engaging our core.”

Next time you’re feeling tired and sore from kayaking, give this series of breathing exercises and yoga poses a try. You might be surprised by how much better you’ll feel after just ten minutes.

The bottom line? “Smile! Yoga is fun, paddling is fun.”
